Basic Skills Competition

The Alexandria Figure Skating Club is holding Battle of the Blades, a Basic Skills Competition on Saturday,
March 29th.  Registration is by March 1st… you don’t need to be a high level skater or have a choreographed
s
hort program to participate… a basic skills competition is for all skaters basic 1 through freestyle  6.  Check
out the guidelines on their website http://www.alexandriafigureskating.org.  This is a fantastic opportunity for
skaters at Diamond Edge to participate.  Let us know if your interested… if there is a lot of interest maybe we
can look at options for getting some more ice to prepare…?

 Annual Meeting:

Annual Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 30th at the YMCA in Willmar beginning at YMCA will not be charging us room rental, however anybody who wants to use the facilities (pool/etc.) and is
not a current YMCA member will have to pay for a guest pass ($5 child/$10 adult/$15 family) which is good
for the whole day.  The pool will be open and a lifeguard will be on duty for the children to swim.  Mark your
calendars.  A reminder and proposed agenda will be mailed approximately one week prior.  The Annual
Meeting is a time we review the finances for the current fiscal year, look at and decide on a show theme for next
season and we should have the DVD’s from this year’s show for distribution.

 Lost & Found:

There were some clothing and items left at the Civic Center after the show.  We will have a lost & found box
at skating on Sunday so please claim them or they will be there until next season.  Thank you.

Costume Closet:

Watch your emails for notices from the Costume Committee… You should receive a notice if there are
missing items – but if you have any of the pieces, parts or whole rental costumes please bring it with you on
Sunday.
