INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM
In 2005, through the generous support of the Willmar Area Youth as Resources, DEFSC initiated a "grow your own" philosophy for developing competent instructors for our programs.
Through the continued dedication and expertise of volunteers Cheryl Schmidt and Marilee Dorn, this program has florished and we currently employ ten of our area youth as instructors and have 6 students volunteering as assistants as part of their training requirement.
We are very proud of our mature instructors and assistants and this component of our programming. It allows us to keep our expenses down, keep our employment dollars local and help our youth develop future employee skills in a nuturing environment.
