DEFSC Instructor/Assistant Training Program
Each year Diamond Edge Figure Skating Club offers an instructor and assistant training program to skaters from grades 7-12. The Instructor training program provides good employee skills and self esteem, plus we are able to capitalize on the assets of our dedicated skaters as instructors and assistants. The mission of Diamond Edge is "To develop a lifelong love of physical fitness through the art and sport of figure skating". The Instructor/Assistant training program builds on that principle by keeping the instructors well informed with practical coaching skills to make lessons informative and enjoyable. This year's training program was held on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Next year's training will be held in October 2010.
Club Requirements for Instructors:
Age 14 or older and skating level Freeskate 2 or higher
Club Requirements for Assistants:
Age 12 or older and skating level Basic 8 or higher
